Desktop docs cover the CachyOS KDE lane and planned desktop ricing work. They are design and operating-boundary docs only until an explicit CachyOS desktop command lands.

Current Contract

• CachyOS KDE Plasma 6 on Wayland is the active GUI Linux desktop lane.
• Breeze Dark is the active KDE safety-net baseline.
• WSL and native Windows do not receive KDE, GTK, icon, cursor, wallpaper, or Plasma layout ricing.
• Existing terminal, editor, shell, and development tooling themes are outside the ricing scope unless a later decision explicitly changes them.
• No desktop settings are applied by docs pages, chezmoi apply, or the normal package upgrade path.
• Future visible desktop mutation must be behind explicit CachyOS-only commands with backup and rollback behavior.

Source Boundary

This is a chezmoi source repo. Future tracked desktop helpers, data, or assets belong under repo-owned source paths first. Live files under ~/.config, ~/.local/share, ~/.themes, or ~/.icons are target state, not the source of truth.
